The Great Book of Nature - Episode- THE MONKEY
Episode Summary:
Two monkeys live in the forest: one is gray, older and wise; his brother
is red, young and carefree. Winter is just around the corner, and the
older monkey starts collecting chestnuts, fruit, and other things to eat
in order to have a good supply of provisions, and on each outing he
finds a new effortless way to carry everything into his cave. The old
monkey encourages his brother to do the same, but the youngster intends
to do anything but work. To begin with, he straps on a pair of wings and
tries to fly like an eagle; then, after talking to a bear, he gorges
himself on chestnuts, hoping to accumulate a large reserve of fat and
then sleep through the winter…. But nothing works, and the young monkey
ends up with a stomachache. The moral is that one must set their mind to
working in order to survive!
